Bid is not a term used in hold em poker at all, do you mean raise or bet? If thats your question it all depends on what game you are playing there are a few types of limits you can play, and each affects how you can bet your hands. Most people know about no limit games, this means you can bet any amount of chips you want, as long as it is twice the size of the big blind, all the way up to all your chips. Fixed limit is a exact limit you can make the bet, so if the big blind is 50 dollars you can raise it to 100 dollars, and the next player can make it 150 and so one, but there is a cap of one bet and 4 raises per betting round, so once the cap is reached no more betting can be made. And you also have spread limit games, these games have a range you can make your bets, you this kind of limit in stud games as well as some hold games. So you have a range of what you can bet here, so if the spead is 1-5 you can bet one dollar all the way up to 5 dollars.
References :
once you bid or raise, you cannot raise again until it is your turn again.

Also, if you are playing versions other than "no-limit", such as "pot-limit texas hold 'em", you will be restricted in the maximum amount you can bet.
References :
In Texas Hold'em you can either make a bet or a (re-)raise. You cannot 'raise a bid.' In order to answer this question you'd have to explain where you were playing, what kind of Texas Hold'em you were playing, and what you mean. If you are talking about an online game, you'd need to tell us which one, as there are hundreds out there.

If you are talking about online play there is usually some kind of slider you can slide to increase your bet, or a box where you can type it in. In limit Hold'em the options open to you are normally depicted by buttons.
